26.09.2009: 2nd Prize at 5th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition

During the finales of this year’s International Chamber Music Competition for String Quartet, the EnAccord String Quartet won a 2nd prize. The finales, in which the EnAccord String Quartet played Haydn Op. 20 No. 3 and Beethoven’s Opus 95 ‘Serioso’, were broadcasted by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation NRK.

 

25.04.2009: 3rd Prize at 4th Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna

“The performance of Mendelssohn’s string quartet (opus 13) by the EnAccord String Quartet in the semi final was the highlight of this competition”, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, President of the jury.
The EnAccord String Quartet has won the 3rd Prize at the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna.

 

10.03.2009: Four musical instruments from the 19th century

The Dutch Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds (NMF) – a foundation for musical instruments – has selected the EnAccord String Quartet to play a beautiful combination of four French instruments from the 19th century. The two violins and the viola are built by J.P. Vuillaume, the violoncello is built by Pierre & Hippolyte Silvestre.

 

07.10.2008: Postgraduate Studies with Alban Berg Quartet

The EnAccord String Quartet has been admitted to a Postgraduate Study Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Cologne. They will have monthly lessons with the members of the Alban Berg Quartet – violinists Günter Pichler and Gerhard Schulz, violist Isabel Charisius and cellist Valentin Erben.

 

17.05.2008: Audience Award Chamber Music Competition Almere

During the finals of the National Chamber Music Competition in Almere, the audience voted for the EnAccord String Quartet as the winner of the Audience Award. With it’s performance of Schulhoff’s 1st Quartet, 3rd movement, Debussy Quartet and Pannonia Bounless by Alexandra Vrebalov, the quartet made a quite an impression.

 
06.04.2008: 2nd Prize International Charles Hennen Competition

The EnAccord String Quartet won 2nd price during the finals of the International Charles Hennen Competition for Chamber Music in Heerlen, Holland. The highest category of this Internationaal Chambermusic competition open for young, professional string- and piano-ensembles. The competition is held under the auspieces of EMCY.

 

25.01.2008: Grandopening LOW-festival Budapest

The LOW Festival brings a variety of Dutch and Flemish contemporary arts, performing arts, fine arts, classic, jazz and pop music, design, theatre, and films to Hungary for a month in February and March 2008. The opening will finish with a dance performance by the Budapest Dance Theatre, choreographed by Neel Verdoorn, with music from Steve Reich (‘Triple Quartet’) performed by the EnAccord String Quartet.

 

13.07.2007: New second violinist

Ian has recently decided to leave our quartet. For five years we enjoyed his tremendous drive. We look gratefully back at a fruitful time of cooperation and wish him all the best for his future career. The EnAccord Quartet is happy to introduce Helena Druwé as the new 2nd violinist in the quartet.

 

28.04.2007: Workshop with Kronos Quartet, concert at Carnegie Hall

The EnAccord String Quartet was invited to participate in a training workshop given by the Kronos Quartet, run by the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall, in New York. It has been a very special and useful experience to work so intensely (six hours per day) together on challenging compositions (pieces that are written for the Kronos Quartet) The closing concert at Carnegie Hall ’s Zankel Hall was very successful.

 

24.03.2007: Finalist ‘Vriendenkrans Concours’

On March 24th the EnAccord String Quartet won several prizes during the finales of the ‘Vriendenkrans Concours’, a Dutch music competition organized by the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam: The ‘Pasman’ prize (a scholarship), the ‘Noorderkerk’ and the ‘Gouden Lier’ prize (concerts in the Noorderkerk and the Concertgebouw).
